Kith Editorial for adidas Samba
Born on the soccer field and thriving everywhere since–the adidas Samba was first created as a football shoe for the 1950 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Named after the popular Brazilian dance, the Samba helped athletes play at a higher level with their newfound traction, compliments of the revolutionary rubber sole.
A pioneer for performance that shies from trend, the Samba has remained the chosen everyday lifestyle shoe of footballers, musicians, actors and models. The Samba was a popular silhouette of the 70s and 80s, and now has a recently reinvigorated street presence in the current decade.
The present model remains largely untouched with its recognizable leather upper, T-Toe suede overlay and iconic gum-colored rubber cup sole. The style is complete with “Samba” in an embossed, metallic gold foil along the pinstripes.
