This launch will culminate in an exhibition and pop-up at Art Basel Miami 2024.
To honor the legendary motorsport history of BMW M, Kith has redesigned two cars that represent the inception and evolution of the German automotive brand’s timeline. These two cars are the only standalone BMW M models ever created—the BMW M1 and the BMW XM. The BMW M1 debuted in 1978 as the first car ever created by BMW M, while the BMW XM is the first standalone BMW M model since the BMW M1—a distinction that underscores its importance in BMW’s legacy.

The BMW XM shares several key design elements with the BMW M1, including the dual rear roundels, side accent lines, rear window cover, and more. To further bridge this gap, Kith has designed a one-of-a-kind concept version of the BMW XM that highlights its motorsport roots—the 2025 BMW XM Kith Concept.
The chassis dimensions have been increased in width by 40mm on each axle with wheel spacers and lowered by 30mm on the front axle and 35mm on the rear axle. The front seats have been replaced with fully carbon-motorsport seats, featuring Kith monogram-embossed BMW Individual black Merino leather and illuminated headrest badges. This custom leather is also applied throughout the interior, including the armrest, backseats, and backseat pillows.
Inspired by the Techno Violet color of the 1981 BMW M1 E26 by Ronnie Fieg, we developed a new paint color exclusively for this partnership—Frozen Techno Violet. This evolution of Techno Violet highlights the past-and-present connection to the BMW M1 when seen alongside the Ronnie Fieg’s M1. The rims are also painted with a special clearcoat containing purple color pigments. Lastly, the shade is used on the custom Kith BMW M badge on the tailgate, while classic colors are applied to the illuminated 3D Kith badge on the accent band panel. The violet theme is further enhanced by custom lighting effects, allowing the kidney grilles and headlights to glow purple. Beneath the headlights are custom Kith BMW M LED logos that share the purple hue, as do the hockey stick side panels, which fully illuminate with repeating Kith logos.
The 2025 BMW XM Kith Concept is a pure concept vehicle and is not available for purchase. The 1981 BMW M1 E26 by Ronnie Fieg is also a one-of-a-kind model. Both cars will be on display at the Kith for BMW 2024 Showcase this Friday in Miami at 1111 Lincoln Road.
